The 105th edition of Pitti Uomo, the men's fair which takes place in Florence twice a year, will begin on January 9th, the beginning of Men's Fashion Week A/W 2024. Jonathan Anderson will return to the city and there will be a slew of Milanese classics. At the latter, the question will be how he can top the spectacle of his blockbuster debut at Louis Vuitton last June with his sophomore outing for the storied house. Magliano's A/W 2023 collection will be on display at Pitti Uomo. The Bologna-based brand will be one of Pitti Uomo's guest designers this season. The Italian and British brands have a similar approach to creating their collections, which often are focused on an exploration of class and identity. The city of Bologna has a rich history of protest and the designer behind S.S. Daley is an observation of Britain. At the fair, American designer Todd Sydner will show a collection, while French designer Achilles Ion Gabriel will show his first collection on January 11 at 12pm. Italian brand Tod's will reveal an anticipated collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini, Guess Jeans will reveal a sustainable alternative to its traditional stonewashing, and Brunello Cucinelli will host a typically lavish dinner, heralding the arrival of the brand. The Architectural Review covers will be on display at Margaret Howell's Florence store. Milan Fashion Week Men's will open with a debut of the first collection for Gucci by Sabato De sarno. If that set the tone for the Italian designer's tenure, expect more Ancora Rosso, along with his luxurious, irreverent riffs on wardrobe classics. Stone Island will host its first runway show at 6pm on the same day as the Milan show. The rest of the calendar offers a variety of Milan fashion brands, including Prada, Giorgio Armani, and Emporio Armani, as well as Jonathan Anderson's eponymous line. The Paris Fashion Week Men's began on June 16 and ended on June 20. He will present his second collection on the opening evening of Paris Fashion Week Men's. After Matthew M Williams left in December, the first show will be designed by an in-house team, followed by another show from British designer Grace Wales Bonner at 6:30pm that evening. Among the highlights are Rick Owens' brand of showmanship, as well as Kim Jones' latest outing at Dior, seeing the designer enter his sixth year at the Parisian maison. The schedule includes established names such as Paul Smith, Comme des Garons and Issey Miyake, as well as a new group of designers such as Botter, Kiko Kostadinov and Winnie.
