A blast of cold air was expected to hit the Deep South on Tuesday morning, potentially setting or tying low- temperature records from Texas to Mississippi. The system was predicted to bring dangerously cold wind temperatures to much of the Rockies, Great Plains and Midwest. The Weather Service said on Monday that people should avoid outdoor activities if they can because of the wind chill.
Frigid temperatures are predicted to be brought across the U.S. by a cold weather forecast.
