From January 16 to 21 there are runway presentations that are meant to be a part of the story of a collection. The PFW Men's calendar only features five Black designers out of over 60. It would have been great to see Bianca, Martine, and Ozwald in this season's lineup. In the coming days, well-known brands like Wales Bonner and Lagos Space Programme will present their latest collections. The last show of the Paris calendar will be by the brand on the 20th. The inspiration for many young Black aspiring designers comes from Rousteing's journey from his roots at Robert Cavalli to his creative director role at Balmain.

The gender-neutral Caribbean brand won the Andam prize in 2022, and was a finalist in the same year. The brand is known for its vibrant colors and innovative ideas like turning trousers into sweaters. The duo will present on January 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Adeju Thompson created Lagos Space Programme, a non-binary luxury brand. Thompson was educated in the United Kingdom and was born in Lagos before launching their label. The Victoria and Alber Museum has an exhibition on Africa Fashion.
Winnie New York is on a mission to deconstruct luxury. He studied under both Tom Ford and Burberry before launching his brand. The presentation will take place on January 21 at 11:30 a.m.

The longevity of his career at such a young age is inspiring. It has been about 13 years since he completely changed the look of Balmain from his predecessor to have more of a couture element. Rousteing, a Black designer, has not gone unnoticed because of his ability to adapt and change narratives throughout the fashion industry as a Black designer. The next collection for Balmain is a stand-alone menswear debut, something new to add to the Rolodex of innovative ideas.
