A small country music station in Oklahoma was forced to change its tune after an uproar from fans who say that Black artists are too often excluded from the genre. On Tuesday morning, he requested that the D.J.s at the country music radio station play one of the two new songs Bey released on Sunday. A fellow Black winner, Rhiannon Giddens, is on the banjo and viola in a song that features a fellow Black winner, Bey, who grew up in Houston. The manager of the country music station rejected the proposal to play Bey because they were not a country station.
