Colossal Sanders was made in Vermont.

Arts and EntertainmentColossal Sanders was made in Vermont.

David Holub is an artist in Vermont and he uses a mouse to create his art. The North Ferrisburgh-based artist takes a mix of images and puts them together to create his unique works. Many Vermont gift shops feature these manufactured images of Holub's art. After working in journalism, Holub moved into magazines and did design for a weekly publication. He moved to Vermont after working at a Colorado art studio. I didn't know that Vermont is full of weird and quirky things.

After making a living off of this fun and funny art, he created a name for it, Colossal Sanders.

He doesn't need a clear-cut path for this job. He says that the fun part is the idea generation and bringing those ideas to fruition. Holub uses public-domain images to create his works, but he gets help from his family as well. The team effort, and Vermont-inspired humor, have proven to be enough to make this business stick. Holub says that if he could just make it to the woods, he would have made it.
