The largest exhibition of her work outside of Europe features over 100 paintings. Her style is cartoonish and repetitive, and she mostly painted flora and fauna. The Ukrainian famine of the 1930s, the deaths of her husband and brother in World War II, and the effects of polio are some of the things that Prymachenko survived. You wouldn't know it from her art, which vibrates with playful energy. The flip side to national paeans like "A Ukrainian Palianytsia", which depicts a couple holding up the loaf of bread, are works such as "War Is Horrible", which shows a beast filled with the heads of other animals. She died in her hometown.
