The spa on Governors Island is getting a major upgrade.

BeautyThe spa on Governors Island is getting a major upgrade.

The multimillion dollar expansion includes a new salt room, sensory saunas, relaxation rooms and more. The luxury Italian spa that opened on Governors Island a couple of years ago is pretty awesome as it is, but things are about to get even better. A major expansion is planned to debut in July. The 15,000- square-foot, multimillion dollar addition will include sensory saunas, waterfalls, a salt room, lavender room, ice room and a relaxation room with waterbeds, according to an official press release. Casa QC is a new 5,000-square-foot building that will house a 142-seat bistro that will serve both soft and alcoholic drinks. Rendering courtesy of New York.

The restaurant will stay in place if you're a fan of it. In the spring of 2025, a third building will be constructed, bringing the destination's footprint to 100,000 square feet. QC NY has been open for more than a decade, and last summer they opened two outdoor pools that feature underwater hydro seats and jacuzzis.

In addition to the new offerings, spa guests will still be able to access a wide variety of indoor amenities, including steam baths, relaxation rooms, themed saunas, foot baths, Vichy showers and much more, all while taking in views of the New York Harbor. A ferry ride away from Manhattan has changed the area so much that it's now known as Queens NY.
