The Dublin City Council said the portal was a major step forward in international relations. Lord Mayor of Dublin Daith de Riste wants to make the City more inclusive. The Portals project brings technology, engineering and art together to bring communities from across the world closer together and to allow people to meet and connect outside their social circles and cultures.
The installations have begun to cause trouble for a small group of visitors. In New York, we have had a set of protocols in place since the launch, including on-site security and barriers to prevent people from stepping onto the portal.
