CelebrityShe admits she didn't want the love scene to end.

In the 1985 movie "Out of Africa," she played a baroness who falls in love with a big game hunter played by Robert Redford while running a coffee plantation in South Africa. During a scene from the film, Redford is washing Streep's hair while reading a poem from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." "It's a sex scene in a way, because it's so intimate," the 74-year-old actress said. "We don't see that loving touch, that care, when we see so many scenes of people f—ing- She told the crowd that she and Robert were warned by the production to be careful near wild animals. The actress said that the animal that kills the most people in Africa is the Hippopotamus. I was aware that we were shooting in the river and the hippos were above it, but I don't know if they show that in the movie. "Redford was worried about their safety and wasn't washing her hair well at first," she recalled. Roy Hellund, the makeup artist for the actress, demonstrated how he washed her hair, which she described as the best part of her day. "Redford took the lesson, and he got into it, and I was so in love with him."

She said she didn't want the movie to end in spite of the Hippos. The film was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including a best actress nod for Streep. During a 1985 interview with the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Streep said she found Robert Redford to be very charming.

She said that they got to know each other after he arrived in Africa. She said, "He has an unusual quality for a man, he has a receptive way about him and is an incredibly good listener." In 2007, they starred in the war movie "Lions for Lambs," which also starred Tom Cruise. Click here to sign up for the newsletter.

She said that she felt a wave of feeling from the audience, and that it was a lot. I don't get any respect at home, so it's kind of amazing to come into this arena and have that big tidal wave. She said that she knew she could get them made.
