Cher wants to take control of her son's mental and substance abuse issues. "Petitioner (Cher) is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving him with no assets to provide for himself, and he is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit." According to the filing, Cher has worked hard to get help for her son. A hearing for a temporary order is scheduled for January 5, 2024, while a permanent order is scheduled for March 6, 2024.
Cher claims that Marieangela King is not supportive of his recovery.
Cher alleges in court documents that her son's estranged wife, Marieangela King, is not suitable for the role of a consolidator because of her drug addiction and mental health crises. The filing says King tried to check Cher's son out of a treatment center. According to the docs, is aware of and believes that Angela works to keep Elijah from getting clean and sober or receiving mental health treatment that he desperately needs. Cher said that Allman and King are in the middle of divorce proceedings. Cher's attorneys argue that doing so would result in the immediate loss or dissipation of Elijah's assets for self-destructive purposes. King claimed that she and her son were working toward reconciliation during a 12-day trip to New York in December of 2022.
Cher denied that she planned the abduction of her son, which stems from a claim King made in a court filing last year. King claimed that one of the men who took him was hired by Allman's mother. She told People Magazine that the rumor about her son being kidnapped was not true. She said in the October interview that she tries to help her children one way or another. When you think of your children, you smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them. The sister of Nick andAaron was found unresponsive in the bathroom.
