Hideaki Nishino was previously head of Sony Studios. While preparing for the future, I am thrilled to lead the studio business group and continue to build on our success with PS5. The video game industry has been built on the marriage of content and technology, and I look forward to pushing the boundaries of play and entertainment.
Hideaki Nishino will lead the Platform Business Group, which includes console hardware, technology, accessories, and third-party relations. Nishino has been part of the Sony business since 2006 and has held numerous roles. We strive to grow our community even bigger with innovation at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
I am excited to be working with Hermen to create amazing experiences for an ever expanding audience. Hiroki Totoki has been acting CEO of the division since Jim Ryan left at the end of March. From June 1st, the latest changes will take effect. The fact that both new CEOs are established PlayStation veterans is in-keeping with Sony's approach of promoting from within. The decision to have two leaders is not something the business has done before. The new leadership has created a structure that is designed to deliver sustainable growth.
