Movie Magazine Dreams is no longer at Disney's Searchlight.

CelebrityMovie Magazine Dreams is no longer at Disney's Searchlight.

It looks like Searchlight Pictures won't be releasing Jonathan Majors' movie Magazine Dreams after all. Searchlight sold the rights to Magazine Dreams, a movie starring Majors, back to the filmmakers, according to a report. It won't be under Disney/Searchlight, but the filmmakers can bring the movie to other studios in hopes of eventually getting it made. The Magazine Dreams team was told about the news by Searchlight Pictures last week. Disney removed Magazine Dreams from its release schedule, with no new release date being announced. Magazine Dreams was picked up by Searchlight after it screened at last year's festival, with many critics praising Majors' performance. Jonathan Majors is impossible to ignore, even as the pacing slows, as a man who desperately needs the world to see him, and if they refuse, to feel his pain.

Majors are more prominent now.

Majors' career was at a high point as he was set up as a central villain in the Phase 5 of the MCU, just as he was drawing attention for his performance in Magazine Dreams. His rise came crashing to a halt, however, after he was arrested for strangulation, assault, and harassment. Majors still starred in the second season of the show, which was written and shot before he was arrested, but Disney confirmed just hours after his conviction that they wouldn't be moving forward with him. Searchlight Pictures is said to have dropped him from the Dennis Rodman film 48 Hours in Vegas.
