Paul McCartney talked about his photos with the Beatles.

MusicPaul McCartney talked about his photos with the Beatles.

When the Beatles took Europe and America by storm, images of screaming fans, a girl in a yellow bikini, and airport workers playing air guitar were taken by Paul McCartney. McCartney doesn't like to sit still and reminisce about the past, so he chatted while driving home from his studio in England. He warned his interviewer that the signal might die at any moment. It took two days to talk about the breakthrough period when the Beatles went viral, captured in the traveling exhibition "Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-1964: Eyes of the Storm." It is currently at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Va., and will come to the Brooklyn Museum in May. He thought the photos were lost, until Sarah Brown found them in the artist's library. Doors were often left open and fans were invited in. A biographer took the original from the studio and put it in a display case.
