The producers of 1998's Hard Rain told Minnie Driver she couldn't wear a wetsuit because they wanted to see her nipples.
The Good Will Hunting actress said that she was made to feel like an idiot because she pushed back on a costume decision for the disaster film despite filming in 20 million gallons of water.
She explained that it was set during a huge storm. I was told by the producers that I couldn't wear a wetsuit because they wanted to see my nipples, and that there was no point in having a wet shirt if you couldn't have what was underneath it.
Kathleen Detoro told The Hollywood Reporter that the Hard Rain cast had many wetsuits, full, shorties, tops and bottoms. The film was filmed in the water and flooded.
Driver didn't name the producers in her comments on Monday, but said that she didn't understand that this is what's going on when she challenged the decision at the time. The Speechless actress said that she was punished for calling her agent. It was leaked to the press and I was just complaining, but it was supported by the environment. When you turn on yourself, you realize you should have stopped saying things in the first place.
