Slipknot fired Jay Weinberg last fall, and the drummer said he was devastated when he got the call. He attended the Grammys last month, where he received a nomination for Best Metal Performance, and today he announced he is joining Suicidal Tendencies. Weinberg replaces Greyson Nekrutman, who quit the band to join Sepultura.
He said that he had become friends with his musical heroes who had been a part of the band's history. It is an honor and privilege to play with Suicidal Tendencies, and I can't wait to start the new chapter! Slipknot will be at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, but have yet to announce Weinberg's replacement.
