Steve Buscemi was the victim of a random act of violence in New York. The 66-year-old star of "Fargo" and "Boardwalk Empire" was taken to the hospital after he was attacked on the streets of New York. The New York Post reported that the attacker took off and hasn't been caught.
The New York Police Department didn't name Buscemi as the victim, but they did release photos of the alleged attacker. The bearded man was carrying a backpack. A worker in the area who witnessed part of the assault told The New York Post that he saw him fall backwards while he was with a woman. I did not see who hit him.
Buscemi, who was born in Brooklyn, is a beloved New York figure and is a former New York firefighter who helped at Ground Zero during the 9/11 attacks. Buscemi's "Boardwalk Empire" co-star Michael Stuhlbarg was hit in the back of the neck with a rock while walking in Manhattan's Central Park. Stuhlbarg was able to chase down his attacker, who was arrested outside the park.
The man who was attacked was a homeless man.
