The Albuquerque-based architect who became known for buildings that resonated with the landscape of the American Southwest, earning him international recognition and prestigious commissions, died on Saturday at the age of 87. Mr. Predock had a lung disease, according to his wife. In a 1994 monograph,Antoine Predock wrote of the temptation to build something familiar, like a bank with a classical facade. One option that I have chosen is to make buildings that suggest an analogous landscape. They kept the geological look that made Mr. Predock's best work.
