The British Museum has been working with police to recover hundreds of engraved gems and other items of jewelry that were stolen from its store rooms. The British Museum has a room called "Rediscovering Gems" that contains dozens of small artifacts known as intaglios and cameos. According to Aurélia Masson-Berghoff, a curator who is leading the recovery team, art dealers who bought the stolen items have returned over 300 of them to the museum.
