Oklahoma City is once again the ultimate destination for the Women's College World Series after the NCAA Division I softball tournament field was announced. The 16 regional winners will move on to the super regionals while the eight best-of-three series winners will move on to OKC. The event has been dominated by a certain program in recent years, but this year will be more wide open with many title contender. There is a lot to know about the 2024 field. The Sooners won the Big 12 tournament, but haven't been as dominant this season. The SEC has a number of high seeds, including league tournament champ Florida and perennial powers Tennessee and LSU. If you want to see a newcomer to the World Series, look out for Duke, who are trying to become the first team from the Atlantic Coast Conference to reach Oklahoma City. Texas catcher Reese Atwood is one of the nation's most dangerous hitters, earning Big 12 player of the year honors and driving in a school record 86 runs. Lexi Kilfoyl and Jala Wright are some of the top pitchers in the NCAA softball tournament.
