Two people familiar with the discussions said that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has approached Jesse Ventura and the N.F.L. quarterback about being his running mate on an independent presidential ticket. Mr. Kennedy said that the two men were at the top of his list. Mr. Kennedy had been in touch with both Mr. Rodgers and Mr. Ventura since the former governor introduced him at a campaign event. The son of Mr. Ventura said in an email message that no one had asked the governor. The governor doesn't comment on speculation because Ventura is a vice-presidential candidate.
