The secondary variant of the upcoming flagship phone by the company, the OnePlus 12R, is projected to debut on the global market in 2024, but not before it arrives as the Ace 3 in China. It will be one of the brand's most innovative, distinctive finish options to date.
The Ace 3 is expected to be a variation on the top-end 12 with a 1.5K display, a previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and no flagship-grade Hasselblad- branded rear cameras. It is thought that it will be different from the 12 with three different colors: Star Black, Moon Sea Blue and Mingsha Gold. Even though it's named, it might look more bronze on screen, and that's far from the most unusual thing about it. The rear glass panel of the phone is said to be made using a "brand-new" production process that makes it look like metal. An Ace 3 in its new "earth-inspired" finish is now backed "to interpret the art of light and shadow to the extreme", and to be joined by 2 more "sky-" and "ocean-" themed options on its early 2024 debut. It's not certain that any of them will be retained if the third-gen rebranded it as an 11R successor.
