Just days after Insomniac suffered a horrible data breach, it might have avoided the same fate. The security collective shared a report on X that an "unknown threat actor" gained access to the internal tools of the company. They intended to get 900GB of data from the French game publisher behind the titles, but after 48 hours, they were denied access. The Rainbow Six: Siege user data was not obtained by the hackers. In a statement, BleepingComputer was told that it is aware of an alleged data security incident, but did not have anything else to share. This is just the latest attempt at a data breach of a major video game company, a trend that got much attention earlier in the year after Insomniac Games had sensitive employee data and information about upcoming video games leaked in a massive hack. There is no indication at this time that anything was accessed or leaked in the hack.
