Jonathan Majors was found guilty of assault.

CelebrityJonathan Majors was found guilty of assault.

Jonathan Majors was dropped by Disney and Marvel Studios after he was found guilty of hitting his former girlfriend. A Manhattan jury found Majors guilty of one assault charge and one harassment violation stemming from his confrontation with Grace. Majors looked slightly downward and showed no reaction as the verdict was read. He didn't say anything as he left the courthouse. His lawyer said in a statement that he still has faith in the process and looks forward to clearing his name. Chaudhry said that Mr. Majors was grateful to God, his family, his friends and his fans for their love and support. A person close to the studio who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter said that the star of the movie was dropped from all future projects. Majors was going to become a central figure in the Cinematic Universe when he was arrested. Majors was to star in a movie called "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," which was to be released in May of 2026. Majors was one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood. The Yale School of Drama graduate played a troubled amateur bodybuilder in the film "Magazine Dreams", which was set to open in theaters this month. Searchlight Pictures removed the movie "Magazine Dreams" from its release calendar ahead of Majors' trial. The Manhattan District Attorney said in a statement that the trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse.

The dispute between Majors and Jabbari began in the backseat of a chauffeured car and spilled into the streets of Manhattan. The British dancer accused Majors of hitting her in the head with his open hand, twisting her arm behind her back, and squeezing her middle finger until it broke. Majors' lawyers said that she flew into a jealous rage after reading a text message from another woman. The trial brought forth new evidence about Majors' relationship with Jabbari, who he met on the set of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." The actor begged the doctor not to send him to the hospital for a head injury.

They played audio of Majors saying he was a great man, then questioned whether he could meet the high standards set by the spouses of Martin Luther King and Barack Obama. Majors attorneys said that Jabbari secretly recorded her boyfriend as part of a plan to destroy his career. Over the course of four days of testimony, she said Majors was too controlling and prone to fits of rage that left her afraid. The video showed Majors manhandling her and shoving her into the vehicle as if she were a doll.

Majors brought a gold-leaf Bible with him to the courtroom each morning, along with family members and his current girlfriend. He wiped away tears as Chaudhry urged jurors to end the nightmare for Jonathan Majors.

Majors did not take the stand. Chaudhry said her client was the victim of white lies, big lies, and pretty little lies, invented by Jabbari to exact revenge on an unfaithful partner. The attorney cited security footage that showed Majors sprinting away from his girlfriend as she chased him through the night. She followed a group of strangers she met on the street to a dance club, where she ordered drinks for the group and did not seem to be favoring her injured hand. Chaudhry said that she used Jonathan's credit card to buy Champagne for revenge and treat the strangers she was angry with. Majors called the police after finding Jabbari unconscious in the closet of their Manhattan apartment. Chaudhry said that Majors was afraid of what would happen when a black man in America came true and that he called the police out of concern for her. Galaway said that Majors was following a well-worn tactic used by abusers to portray their victims as attackers. You were asked why you are here.
