CelebrityKate will not return to royal duties until April after having abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales will not return to royal duties for months after undergoing abdominal surgery, the Palace said today. The Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic yesterday for an abdominal surgery and is expected to be in the hospital for ten to fourteen days. The Princess of Wales is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter according to the current medical advice. She wants the public to understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible, and her wish that her personal medical information remains private. "Kensington Palace will only provide updates on Her Royal Highness' progress when there is significant new information to share." Prince Philip had abdominal surgery in 2013 and the Palace described it as "exploratory surgery." This is the first time that the public has been informed of hospitalization or medical treatment for Kate, other than her pregnancies. Prince William will not do official work while his wife is in the hospital.
