There are cash prizes and exhibition opportunities for children and teens in San Antonio.

Arts and EntertainmentThere are cash prizes and exhibition opportunities for children and teens in San Antonio.

Children and teens interested in photography are being invited to take part in an annual city-wide contest for cash and the right to have their photos framed and exhibited at a San Antonio museum. The winning photos from the Spring Nature Exhibition will be displayed at the Witte Museum.

The annual exhibition is an opportunity for young artists to showcase their work in San Antonio's art scene. The picture your world program is intended to expose the city's youth and families to nature through the lens of a camera.

Thirty winning photographs and award prizes will be selected by local professional photographer Michael Nye, with three winners and 12 honorable mentions from two age groups. Wildlife such as birds, mammals, insects, spiders, reptile and amphibian, and people enjoying nature are some examples. The awards ceremony will take place at Trinity University on Wednesday, May 15. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners in each age group with first, second and third place receiving $300, $200 and $100 cash, respectively. To enter, entrants must complete a submission interest form on the Green Spaces Alliance website. You can find more information at greensatx.org.
