The guitarist of the band, Tommy Johansson, decided to leave the band. Since the days when he was alone playing all the instruments in the band, he has fronted his own band, called Majestica, which is a symphonic power metal band. The Christmas Carol tour was canceled in the year 2022, due to the conflict in Johansson's schedule. The band and Johansson posted statements on their Facebook page, and the parting seems to be an amicable one. After 7 amazing years in the band, our guitarist, Tommy, has decided to leave to pursue his own path. We will continue to support him in his future adventures as we have been a close family.
The best crew in the world will always be my second family and I will miss spending time with them. I wouldn't have learned anything about touring, life, and music if it wasn't for the Sabaton fans. I am certain you will accept the person who takes over after me.
The band said that he will not leave immediately so as to make a smooth transition to whoever takes over for him.
