Music of the mind is the present.

Tate Modern presents the UK's largest exhibition celebrating the influential work of artist and activist Yoko Ono, from February 15th to September 1st of 2024. The show features over 200 works, including installations, films, music, and photography, highlighting Ono's radical approach to language, art, and participation. The exhibition focuses on Ono's work in New York and Tokyo, and encourages visitors to imagine, experience, or complete the work. Tate Modern is home to YOKO ONO: MUSIC OF THE MIND.

Guests at Tate Modern can engage with instructions from Ono, such as 'Listen to a heartbeat' and 'Step in all the puddles in the city'. The exhibition explores Ono's time in London during the 1960s, where she became part of a countercultural network and met John Lennon. The works from this period are featured alongside banned works and Ono's anti-war stance. Throughout her career, Ono has tackled themes such as peace, feminism, and activism. The advocacy for peace and humanitarian causes championed by Ono and John Lennon is highlighted through projects like the WAR IS over! billboard campaign 1969. The exhibition ends with Ono's installation My Mommy Is Beautiful, which invites visitors to attach photographs of their mothers and share personal messages. The Add colour (Refugee Boat) was held at the MAXXI Foundation.

Tate Modern, London, is where YOKO ONO: MUSIC OF THE MIND was installed.
